Modern

Modern Peak

2,500 SQ. FT. | Toronto, ON | Completed 2019

The beauty of modern design is that it can have many interpretations. Our client had a clear vision of their version of modern: clean, crisp, light-filled.

The corner lot provided ample opportunity to highlight the architecture from multiple angles. The mix of materials (stucco, metal panelling, and longboard siding) create texture. The varying roof heights create visual interest. An eye-catching feature of the home is the pitched metal roof, a unique element that deviates from the home’s linear nature and gives a nod to the rooflines of surrounding homes.

The “”faux”” copper door was designed by the homeowner. It’s a wood door painted to look like copper. The homeowner worked with the painter to achieve the perfect amount of petina for an aged copper aesthetic. Not only does the door add visual interest and texture, it highlights the most important part of custom design. A home should be a reflection of those who get to enjoy the space every day.
