Case Study

One Client, Three Styles

The Glass Room, French Classic, Vertically Challenged

A Unique Opportunity

Three distinctly different homes designed for the same client

It’s an honour when we get the opportunity to design more than one home for a client. In this case, over the course of 20 years, we designed 3 homes for this client and his growing family.

From a transitional design on an extreme property to a classic French Chateau design in an established neighbourhood to a standout natural modern design with a glass room. It’s exciting to see the evolution of their design style, from transitional to traditional to modern.

Over the course of 20 years the challenge was to maintain the level of quality and consistency for continuity for the family. The fun lies in changing styles and meeting the demands of a growing family throughout the years.

The Glass Room

A modern home that is family-oriented with open-concept living space, encouraging family togetherness. A modern home that is warm and inviting, yet upholds the aesthetic ideals of modern design – simplicity, openness, indoor-outdoor connection. The objective was to create a home aligned with prairie style architecture, but updated to reflect the lifestyle requirements and innovative design opportunities of today.

French Classic

Inspired by architectural design of the French countryside, this home comfortably coexists with a mature neighbourhood in south Mississauga. The authentic use of exterior materials and close attention to detail were of primary concern during the design process. Simplicity and proportion on display both inside and out contributes to this home’s overall success.

Vertically Challenged

This home is a perfect example of transitional design; the balance between traditional and modern design. The exterior has traditional massing but the clean lines, neutral colour scheme and minimal finishes exude a modern mentality.
