The Glass Sunroom

6,500 SQ. FT. | Mississauga, ON | Completed 2017

Summed up in one word, the theme of this home is “connected.” Both with itself and with the property and neighbourhood around it.

This home design was made possible by combining two pre-existing lots into one. With such an expansive property, there’s a risk of the resulting home overpowering its neighbours, but quite the opposite is true. Large gables and steep rooflines keep the facade grounded, allowing it to form a strong bond with the surrounding homes.

Inside the home is an open concept floor plan, in which two-storey living spaces and a floating staircase create a seamless transition from floor to floor. Interior details such as an illuminated glass bridge further connect the home’s levels.

The standout feature of the home, however, is its large sunroom, complete with a vaulted glass ceiling. Flanked by glass railing terraces, the sunroom is instrumental in blending the rear of the home with the property, reflecting the sky and land as much as it offers stunning views of them.
