Built in the 1950's this one and a half storey Applewood Acres house was replicated throughout the neighbourhood at the time of original construction. The program requirements were modest; a small master bedroom over the garage, an expanded main bath on the second floor and a front porch that would distinguish this home from it's neighbours. The objectives were to be respectful to both the existing home’s character and limited budget. Close attention was given to the preservation of the existing brick as well as the homes proportions and detailing. The result is a charming 'cottage-like' home that seems at peace with it's neighbours.
